goldfest.
We had a dream of one day running a festival, so we thought, let's just get on with it! A festival is just a house party which out-grows itself and out-grows itself and gradually evolves into whatever it becomes. When we were leaving Bristol to venture south to Totnes, we had a leaving party and called it GOLDFEST. There were live bands in the front room, DJ's in the kitchen with decks set up on the cooker, and acoustic acts around the fire in the garden. Friends of ours happened to be driving down the country with a phat sound-system on the same night, and offered to make a detour to hook us up... Heroes! With their rig, some blagged festoon lighting and a couple o'kegs, GOLDFEST was born! In July 2019; with the help of our gnarly Brizzol tribe, we embarked on GOLDFEST MK2. This time in a rented space with five bands and local artists selling their creations. We were hoping that this year's evolution would be held on a boat, but the corona virus put the world on pause, and let's face it, Zoom just wasn't gonna cut it! So who knows, maybe next year!? We believe that music is community, and that's the only way that stuff like this can happen. GOLDFEST is about seeing the gold in people and not being afraid to think big and start small...
